Terms & License
Last updated: 30 October 2026
These terms cover buying and using WARREN. We've kept them plain, and we've been honest about the one thing most security pages won't say out loud: no plugin stops every attack. Here's what WARREN does, what you're buying, and where the limits are.
1. The agreement
By buying or using WARREN, you agree to these terms. If you're installing it for a client or an employer, you're agreeing on their behalf. If you don't agree, don't use the plugin.
2. What you're buying
You're buying a license key that activates WARREN on one (1) WordPress site, plus updates and support for that site. The key is locked to the first domain you activate it on — one key, one site. Activating the same key on a second domain is refused by design. Need it on more sites? Buy a key per site.
3. The plugin's code is open source (GPL)
WARREN's PHP is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later — the same license as WordPress itself and every WordPress plugin. You have all the freedoms the GPL gives you over the code.
WHAT THAT MEANS IN PLAIN ENGLISH
The code is free under the GPL. What you pay for is the license key that switches the plugin on, plus the updates and support that keep it working and keep up with new attacks. That's the service — and it's how nearly every commercial WordPress plugin works.
4. Fair use of your license
- Use WARREN on the one site your key is activated on, for personal or commercial purposes.
- Don't resell, share, or redistribute your license key.
- Don't attempt to defeat the one-site activation to run one key on many sites.
5. What WARREN does — and doesn't — promise
WARREN detects the reconnaissance and automated attacks that precede the overwhelming majority of WordPress hacks, bans the sources, and hardens your site. Used well, it meaningfully lowers your risk.
It is not a guarantee. No security product can promise your site will never be compromised — a brand-new exploit, a weak password, a vulnerable host, or a plugin you installed can get past any defense. WARREN is one strong layer, not a replacement for keeping WordPress, PHP, and your plugins updated and for keeping good backups. We say this plainly because it's true.
6. You won't get locked out of your own site
WARREN is designed so you can't be shut out by its own protection: a logged-in administrator is never auto-banned, false-positive bans expire on their own, and the wp-admin password lock verifies it works before switching on. If anything ever does go wrong, the recovery steps are in the plugin's readme and our docs, and support will help. If we ship an update that breaks your site and can't fix it quickly, see our Refund Policy — we'll make it right.
7. Warranty disclaimer
WARREN is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. You are responsible for keeping backups of your site.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WARREN.HELP will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the plugin. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your license in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Updates and support
An active license entitles you to plugin updates and email support. We follow a documented release process designed to protect live sites. We may discontinue a feature or the product with reasonable notice to active customers.
10. Termination
You can stop using WARREN and delete it at any time; its uninstaller cleans up after itself. We may deactivate a license that is being shared or abused in breach of Section 4.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; we'll change the date above and notify active customers of material changes by email. Continuing to use WARREN after a change means you accept it.
12. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of New Mexico, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions: support@warren.help.
